MCS have put in place effective environmental management procedures that can bring bring benefits to both the environment and the business itself. It is important to us that we are aware of the effects on the environment as a consequence of the tasks we undertake. It is important that we look at ways of preventing and minimising our impacts on the environment due to our work activities.

Wi-1 – Scottish Power Safety Rule Induction – My Experience

The Wi-1 authorisation allows the holder to work on, or adjacent to, isolated plant or equipment when working on the Scottish Power network.

For companies and their contractors who work on the Scottish Power network, gaining this accreditation is essential. Having recently renewed the qualification, I thought I’d take some notes on becoming an authorised person then share the experience with my network.

New Office Space

From the 1st of May 2021, MCS will be moving into a new premise. The new office is in the centre of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. With several parking areas within a 2-minute radius and in an easy to find location, only a 10-minute walk from Hamilton central bus/train station and surrounded by prominent local landmarks, like Hamilton town hall and library, it very accessible for our clientele.

Meet the MCS Team

Here at MCS, its not only our sub-contractors who are working hard, we also have a team of in-house staff who keep everything afloat. With new members of staff and old ones, here is a brief ‘get to know them’ about everyone. First of all, we have our managing director Brian. He is a hard-working grafter who doesn’t just sit in the office doing paperwork, he is out on site each day as a contractor himself, adding the benefit of working one on one with a lot of our subcontractors.
